As I come to the end of ETEC590, I am reflecting back on the beginning of the course. In May I wrote about wanting this course to not just be a hoop to jump through, but rather a meaningful learning experience (Labissiere & Reynolds, 2004). I have not been disappointed. As I have reflected on my past courses, I have been able to consolidate what I have learned, finding connections between courses, resources, and ideas. It has allowed me to pick out key issues that I have focused on throughout the program and make concrete connections to practice. In addition, as in every course I have been introduced to new technologies and been able add them to my growing collection of tools that I have used. In this course alone, I discovered how to embed a live webpage into my e-Portfolio and to create a screen cast using two new tools: Screencast-O-Matic and Camtasia. I notice a new confidence in using new tools or searching out answers to technological issues that did not exist before I began the MET program. I look forward to continuing to learn and grow in the area of educational technology as I consolidate my resources and personal learning networks. I can truly say that I have engaged in a meaningful learning experience from the start of the program right up to the finish.
